Matt's Handyman Service, Inc. (MHS) was started by Matt Buonaiuto in Durham, North Carolina in
1998.
Matt started his business because all of Matt's friends were asking him to help out and do things around
their homes, but no one wanted to pay him for his services. These people were saying how hard it was
to find someone that was reliable and charged fair rates. That was when Matt decided to start Matt's
Handyman Service, Inc.
From the first days of starting MHS it seemed that the company was very blessed with good luck and a
lot of hard work. The first large customer for MHS was the local Coldwell Banker Real Estate office
in Chapel Hill, NC. That one contact, a chance meeting when Matt stopped into one of their offices
and asked for work, started the ball rolling. Within a year MHS was the official "Handyman" for the
Coldwell Banker Concierge program in Chapel Hill, Durham, Raleigh and the surrounding towns. Over
150 Realtors used MHS to help them make repairs to homes that were for sale or were sold and in
need of punch list work.
From the real estate work came a lot of good clients that would call on MHS after they bought their
homes and were satisfied with the work done by MHS.
In 2007 MHS went on hiatus when Matt moved to Prospect, CT to work for Prospect Excavating. In
2011 MHS stated up again with a whole new focus: Connecticut!
Since that day in October 2011 MHS has been very steady and very busy. There have been kitchen
remodel jobs, sheds, roofing, bathrooms, floors, you name it, MHS has done it!
This is only the beginning for MHS.
